ABP PATENT NETWORK GmbH is an established player in the IP market and provides a powerful IP management solution with uptoIP®.

Its core focus spans the entire IP lifecycle - from IP search and annuity management to recordals and additional IP services.

With the introduction of patentbutler.AI^®, the portfolio has been expanded to include an AI-based solution that significantly simplifies day-to-day IP work through automation and increased efficiency.

A Clear Step Forward: 2026

In 2026, the company takes the next logical step: ABP PATENT NETWORK GmbH becomes uptoIP GmbH—marking a clear strategic focus on SaaS-based IP solutions.

2010 - 2020

Driving Digital Transformation Since 2014

A major milestone in digitalization was achieved in 2014 with the launch of uptoIP^®, introducing a new generation of digital file management and replacing the legacy DISIS system.

As part of this evolution, ABP PATENT NETWORK AG was established in Switzerland, further strengthening the company’s international presence.

In the years that followed, ABP consistently expanded its global network, including the founding of ABP Munich (2017) and ABP Hong Kong.

2000 - 2010

Building the Foundation

In 2001, ABP moved to its current headquarters at Rosenauerweg 16, laying the groundwork for continued growth.

Over the following years, the company established its three core pillars in IP management and further refined its service offering.

In 2008, another strategic milestone was reached: Hannes Burger and Clemens Ofner founded the law firm "Anwälte Burger und Partner,” expanding the company’s legal expertise.

1990 - 2000

Early Focus on Technology and Innovation

The move to Bahnhofsweg 4 in 1990 marked the beginning of ABP’s consistent focus on IT-supported processes.

Early on, the company invested in digital data processing within IP management - laying the foundation for efficient and scalable operations.

In 1994, ABP reached another milestone with the development and commercialization of DISIS, one of the first digital document management solutions for IP - positioning the company as a pioneer in the field.

1980 - 1990

A Vision from the Start

With a clear vision, Anton Burger laid the foundation for ABP: to strengthen companies’ international competitiveness through professional IP services.

Even in the early stages, he expanded the company, hired the first employee, and invested in modern IT infrastructure (Olivetti) - an early step toward digitally supported processes.
